The Storm Gathers (Part II), by Coil

Coil walked up the Pilgrims Path, heading towards the temple. The Skeletal guards before its doors barred his way.
"State your business at this place shadow."
He had no time for this. With a burst of darkness, the shadows around his skeleton dispersed, and his sapphire eyes glared at them.
'Move.'
The skeletal guards looked at the lich before them, and trembled.
'We ask forgiveness Crypt Lord, we did not recognize you.'
They moved out of his way as the doors opened. He walked through the temple halls. Those who were there moved aside, giving him wide berth. Already many weapons were present at hips, and armor was being strapped on. He was met by a lower ranking priest. He bowed before Coil.
'Baron, please, the Priestess awaits you.'
He followed the ghoul through another set of doors to stand before Suthissa. The lich-like drow stared at him with her burning eyes.
'You walk into The Queen's temple as if you own it Crypt Lord.'
Coil met her gaze, staring her down.
'I do not have time to be formal Priestess. You are aware of why I come here.'
'Yes.'
'Then you have answers for me?'
Suthissa reached beneath her altar for a leather pouch. It was made of stitched human leather. Upon the altar she poured forth from the bag a collection of teeth and bones. She hunched over them, muttering and grumbling. After a while she looked towards Coil and spoke.
'The Wrathbringer has slipped from the reach of even Our Queen for now. The War Priest's situation…’
Coil stood rock solid still as he waited for the words to come from her mouth.
